Shulchan Aruch, Even HaEzer Siman 18

Siman 18

Presented here for study, not as a practical ruling. The Shulchan Aruch rules by Sephardi custom, the Rema's glosses by Ashkenazi custom, and the Kitzur follows Ashkenazi custom. For a practical question, ask your rabbi.

1 Betrothal takes hold between those who are prohibited by a negative commandment or positive commandment, and all the more so, [between those] with secondary Rabbinic prohibitions (Tur).
