Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chayim Siman 214

Siman 214

Presented here for study, not as a practical ruling. The Shulchan Aruch rules by Sephardi custom, the Rema's glosses by Ashkenazi custom, and the Kitzur follows Ashkenazi custom. For a practical question, ask your rabbi.

1 Any beracha that does not include a mention of Hashem’s Name and Kingdom is not a beracha. If the mention of Hashem’s Name or Kingdom were left out the beracha must be repeated. Even if only the word Olam was left out he must repeat the beracha since the word Melech by itself is not an expression of His Kingdom.
